This was our favorite restaurant in Taormina. It&#39;s an authentic Sicilian restaurant and the food was amazing. The staff couldn&#39;t have been any nicer.

Calipso Bistrot

Apart from a few small problems with the reception, for the lack of staff already announced, and the difficulties after due to cancellation of the booking (when we had actually dinner) was a wonderful evening. Food is really divine!

Very friendly staff, traditional Sicilian great quality dishes and fantastic wine. We went for our anniversary and we really enjoyed the way they brought us the food on a little Sicilian boat with music playing! It was a warm theatrical experience and we will definitely return! ????❤️

Sehr freundlich, leider waren viele Speisen der Karte nicht verf&uuml;gbar, sodass wir auf den empfohlenen Antipasto Teller ausweichen mussten. Dieser war mit 6 verschiedenen Fisch Antipasti reichlich und gut.

Very friendly, unfortunately, many foods were not available on the map so we had to avoid the recommended Antipasto Teller. This was rich and good with 6 different fish Antipasti.

Siamo stati al ristorante Calipso per festeggiare San Valentino. Il locale, molto romantico e curato nei minimi dettagli, presenta un&rsquo;ambientazione ispirata alla centenaria tradizione folclorica della Sicilia, suggerita all&rsquo;ingresso da un carro siciliano autentico e, in esterna, dalla &ldquo;barca del bacio&rdquo;, dove &egrave; obbligatorio sedersi e baciarsi, geniale trovata del gestore. Ogni particolare, a partire dalla simpatia del personale, trasmette quella umanit&agrave; e quella genuina voglia di divertirsi grazie a cui i siciliani sono amati nel mondo, tanto che non si percepisce quell&rsquo;atteggiamento un po&rsquo; distaccato che si pu&ograve;  trovare in molti locali di Taormina. La freschezza del pesce locale e l&rsquo;ampia scelta di molluschi e crostacei ti restituisce l&rsquo;impressione di essere ai Caraibi per un viaggio di piacere. L&rsquo;atmosfera briosa ed esotica &egrave; confermata dallo splendido lungomare alberato di Taormina popolato di turisti provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. Ciliegina sulla torta di questo splendido milieu di buon cibo, cultura, musica e calore umano &egrave; la piscina adiacente, che i bambini possono sfruttare nelle giornate pi&ugrave; calde. Ma, diciamocelo sinceramente, quello che pi&ugrave; ci convince dei locali quando si prenota con TheFork &egrave; il rapporto qualit&agrave; prezzo e questo &egrave; il punto forte del Calipso, un rapporto davvero imbattibile per la zona. Se ordinate gli antipasti del giorno (una selezione molto varia e generosa), questi vi verranno serviti su un carrello a forma di nave da un cameriere vestito da ufficiale di Marina con tanto di uniforme, sciarpa e Bancroft (che verr&agrave; offerto anche ai commensali) al ritmo sincopato della canzone &ldquo;Djobi, Djoba&rdquo; dei Gipsy Kings. Non dimenticate di tirare fuori i cellulari per immortalare il divertente ricordo!

We were at the Calipso restaurant to celebrate Valentine&#39;s Day. The local, very romantic and careful in the minimum details, has an atmosphere inspired by the hundred years of folklore tradition of Sicilia, suggested by an authentic Sicilian car and, outside, by the &ldquo;b&aring;t of kissing&rdquo;, Where it is mandatory to sit and kiss, great found by the manager. Every particular, starting with the sympathy of the staff, transmits that humanity and that genuine desire to enjoy the world, thanks to which the Sicilians are loved, so that you do not perceive that a little displaced attitude you can find in The freshness of the local fish and the wide selection of molluscs and crustaceans give you the impression of being in the Caribbean for a pleasant trip. The briss and exotic atmosphere is confirmed by the beautiful longshore tree of Taormina, populated by tourists from all over the world. Cyrus on the cake of this beautiful environment of good food, culture, music and human heat is the adjacent pool, which children can exploit in the warmest days. But let us be honest, what makes us more convinced of the rooms when booking with TheFork is the price quality ratio and this is the strong point of the Calipsi, a really unrestable relationship for the area. If you order the day&#39;s meals (a very varied and generous selection), they will be served on a vessel-shaped wagon by a servant dressed as a Marine officer in such uniforms, Sciarpa and Bancroft (which will be offered to the comensals) at the synchronized pace of the Gipsy Kings&#39; song &ldquo;Djobi, Djoba&rdquo;. Don&#39;t forget to pull out your cell phones to unmortalize the fun memory!
